Maluleke: We want to do well for our supporters

Jan 07, 2016 @ 16:28:47

Polokwane City will hope to start the year on a high note when they take on tough opponents Mpumalanga Black Aces for the 13th Absa Premiership encounter at Mbombela Stadium. Kick-Off is at 20:15.

The match comes after City’s last 1-0 defeat to Golden Arrows before the Christmas break at the Chatsworth Stadium. Meanwhile Rise and Shine and Amazayoni last met in the 2014/15 season where the match ended on a 2-2 draw.

This weekend’s game has to produce a win in favour of City as the team has not being doing well this season.

Captain, Jabu Maluleke who missed a few chances in the Arrows match will be expected to lead by example and at least produce or create a goal to deny Aces a victory and naturally award them their 3rd loss of the season.

Speaking ahead of the match, Maluleke said it will be a tough match.

“I’m looking forward to facing Mpumalanga Black Aces for the first time this season. It’s going to be a tough game considering that they have had a good run this season having won seven of their games and only loosing 2.”

“The defeat to Arrows left a bitter taste in our mouths. However it’s not about venting out this weekend. We will play our game the way we know how and the best team will win on the day.”

“It’s not nice to lose to Aces in that manner. We have been hard at work in camp after the setback against Arrows. It’s a long journey, there will be obstacles. We want to do well for our supporters.
