"Our defense has improved this season" Mbonani

May 18, 2016 @ 09:09:37

It has been quite a bumpy road for Polokwane City during the 2015/16 season with the team roaming around the relagation zone.

#RideAndShine nightmare ended on the second last game of the season after they drew 2-2 with AmaTuks at the Old Peter Mokaba Stadium on May 11.

A lot of this is caused by the unwavering and ongoing conceding of goals and the focal point would be the Midfeild and back line.

Having conceded about 42 goals last season with a goal difference of 18 goals and with only one match to go this season while standing at a total of 13 goals conceded it is now safe to say that our defense has improved in the current season.

Polokwane City's Center back Sibusiso Mbonani says that he thinks the team has done better this season

"I think this season we did better in comparison to the former season but if we work hard more on our defence I'll be happy and we need to also work more as a team when it comes to the latter and there's no doubt that next season we will be in the top 8"

Mbonani who was out for most of the games due to a knee and ankle injuries says that he is happy with the fact that Polokwane City has retained its place in top flight football

"I'm ecstatic that we survived relagation but this now means that we have to work even harder in the upcoming season and we need to collect points very early because fighting relagation is an uncomfortable feeling especially for me because this is my first season with the team"

Polokwane are set to wrap up the season with their much anticipated last match at the Dr Molemela Stadium where they will be taking on Bloemfontein Celtic on Saturday, May 11 at 15h00.

Tickets for the encounter are available at Shoprite/Checker and Computicket for R40
